World Economic Forum: Japan is building a futuristic „ Smart City “ – and that awaits you there

...

Japan is building a futuristic, intelligent city, much to the delight of the World Economic Forum, which recently created a video about it. Artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, robots – you will find all of this there.

The city becomes a „ living laboratory “, in which new technologies such as self-propelled cars and robots are tested. What can go wrong? Hydrogen fuel cells and solar cells are said to supply the city with electricity.

Special types of roads are being built in the city: one for pedestrians, one for bicycles and scooters and one for self-driving vehicles. Electric shuttles deliver goods.

The houses are built of wood to reduce the „ carbon footprint “. Sensors controlled by artificial intelligence monitor the health of the residents. In other words, Big Brother will constantly monitor residents.

The city is built by Toyota on the site where a factory used to be. Over the next five years, 360 older people, families and inventors will move into the first houses. In the end, 2,000 people will live there. Soon with us too?
